GALT – State Highway 99 construction in Galt will force nighttime closures and detours.
The California Department of Transportation beginning today through Wednesday will close Highway 99 at A and C streets from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Motorist will be directed along a signed detour and the California Highway Patrol will enforce traffic controls. Motorists also should plan ahead and figure in additional travel time during the construction period.
The detour is necessary for work to remove existing bridge false work for the A and C Street Overcrossings. The continued work is part of a $39.7 million Central Galt Interchange Project to replace and improve the existing interchange at C Street. The project is scheduled for completion in late 2012.
