Free health fair slated for Saturday

STOCKTON – University of the Pacific students, government agencies, and local businesses are sponsoring a free health fair on Saturday (June 16).

The Rho Pi Phi Living Hope Health Fair will be 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the LifeSong Church at 3034 Michigan Ave. in Stockton.

The Rho Pi Phi International Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Pacific grad Dr. Rajul Patel of Pacific’s Medicare Part D program, and the Bread of Life program of LifeSong Church will be hosting the fair.

The event is open to everyone and is free of charge. No health insurance is required and those without insurance can receive information about free clinics and health services in the area. There will be screenings for blood glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol, bone mineral density, and HIV/AIDS.

Attendees also can receive eye exams and skin exams as well as resources for families, veterans, expecting mothers, elderly, and kids. Educational booths provided by student committees from the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, government agencies and local businesses will be available.

Attendees are encouraged to bring all of their medications, supplements, and herbs for thorough evaluation of their medication therapy.
