Road work could cause delays into the foothills

Written by

STOCKTON – Motorists using state Highway 26 to get into the foothills should expect some delays next week.

The California Department of Transportation will be conducting lane closures on Highway 26 from Wimer Road in eastern San Joaquin County to Savage Road in Calaveras County because of road construction. The work will be done 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day from Monday (July 16) to Saturday (July 21).

Caltrans said that motorists should expect 15 minute delays and that alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

Weather conditions could change the scheduled road work.
