Special needs patients advocate speaks at Women’s Network luncheon

Written by

STOCKTON – An advocate for special needs patients will speak at the July 11 Stockton Women’s Network luncheon at the Stockton Golf and Country Club.

Doreen Bestolarides, the St. Joseph’s Medical Center needs registered nurse, will speak on the rising autistic population and the implications for local businesses. Bestolarides is an advocate for developmentally delayed patients and has fostered St. Joseph’s Special Needs Caregivers program since 2008.

Bestolarides’ vocation and St. Joseph’s Special Needs Caregivers program are labors of love as her oldest son, Danny, lives with Down syndrome.

The Special Needs program advocates for integrating into the community people with special needs. Through this program, Bestolarides makes accommodations and ensures the safety and comfort of any developmentally delayed individuals cared for at St. Joseph’s.
