STOCKTON – City police on Thursday announced changes to the way they respond to traffic collisions.
“This policy has been enacted to ensure officers the ability to respond to higher-priority emergency situations,” according to a statement from the Police Department. “This policy will be under constant evaluation as the Stockton Police Department’s staffing level changes.”

California’s unemployment rate dropped to 9.0 percent in April, according to data released today by the California Employment Development Department (EDD) from two separate surveys. That was down from 9.4 percent in March and 10.7 percent a year ago.
