‘Welcome Day’ slated for Aug. 7

Written by

STOCKTON – San Joaquin Delta College is accepting registration for its seventh annual “New Student Welcome Day.”

The free event is intended to “support academic success” by giving new students a chance to learn about college resources, take a campus tour, buy a student ID, receive a library card, buy textbooks and more.

The event is 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 7.

“Welcome Day will offer a resource fair throughout the morning in Delta’s quad,” reads a portion of a statement on the event. “Students will have the opportunity to meet with college representatives, learn about Delta’s numerous educational opportunities, obtain helpful information regarding financial aid and Delta’s special programs and services.

“Students may also tour the Goleman Library and learn about fall library skills workshops. Don't know your way around campus? Tours will be held every half hour,” the statement continued.

Advanced sign-up is recommended online at: http://www.deltacollege.edu/dept/outreach/ .
