ENCINO – A Central Valley radio station on Feb. 15 was named medium market’s radio station of the year by the Academy of Country Music.
Modesto’s KATM-FM – Kat Country – garnered the honor, reported PRNewswire and confirmed on the ACM website. The Academy of Country Music announced the full list of radio award winners because they will not be televised due to time constraints during the April 1 live telecast of the 47th annual Academy of Country Music Awards.
Kat Country offers 24-hour country music that reaches 17 counties north to Sutter and Yuba counties, west to Napa, south to Madera County, and east to the Tahoe Valley.
Winners in radio categories will be invited to receive their awards at a private reception in Las Vegas the day prior to the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. For the fourth year in a row, ACM Awards producers plan to invite individual On-Air Personality of the Year winners – or one individual from the teams who win Personality of the Year categories – to participate in the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards telecast.
Kat Country was also named medium market station of the year by the Country Music Association last fall.
